Finish options
A polished concrete floor that matches your preferences
At Béton Prestige, every project is a unique creation in itself. The level of gloss, grain exposure and colouring can be customized according to your décor and preferences.

Exposure of the grain
The desired grain exposure is obtained when the concrete is polished. Depending on the density of the diamonds and the number of times that the machine passes over the surface, the finish will be different. Two finishes are possible: the « salt and pepper » finish that exposes the grain of the concrete at the highest level of the slab, and the « exposed aggregate » finish that exposes the grain of the concrete at a lower level of the slab.

Gloss
The gloss is defined by the shine and crispness of the reflection in the floor. A true diamond-ground polished concrete floor always has a gloss and a reflection. Three gloss levels are available: semi-gloss, glossy and high-gloss. Based on the level of gloss that the customer wants, the density of the resin used during the diamond grinding will vary.
The « grit » is the unit of measurement that designates the density of the sanding grain. A 400-grit level will give a semi-gloss floor, an 800-grit level will be used for a glossy floor, and we will use a 3,000-grit level for a high-gloss floor.

Colouring
The colouring of a polished concrete floor is achieved at the time of placement of the concrete. Our cement finishers obtain the selected colouring by adding powdered pigments to the concrete mixture before it is poured.
A number of colours manufactured by our supplier Interstar are available. Apart from the natural colour of concrete, the “smoke” pigmentation is very popular. It can be added to the concrete in different concentrations. Thus we can obtain a wide variety of greys, ranging from light grey to a darker grey like a charcoal colour.
